See New Hanover's unique dedication tradition!

Another successful project! New Hanover County's Castle Hayne Fire Station #13 was recently dedicated with the firefighter tradition of uncoupling a fire hose, instead of the typical ribbon cutting.
Chief Donnie Hall described the tradition as "more than symbolic", showing the daily work that firefighters do.

Our Associate Partner and Project Manager for Castle Hayne, Gregory Scott (pictured above) spoke at the event, thanking the partnering teams who made this station possible, and thanking the County for the two-decades long relationship.
"The new 12,000 square foot station was designed under the guidance of the County and Fire Department's leadership, and was successful because of their leadership," Scott says. "We have now completed Castle Hayne together and will shortly complete Gordon Road. We look forward to continuing the relationship with the County for decades to come."
The building consists of apparatus bays, support spaces, bunk rooms, an exercise room, offices, and a public-facing lobby, accounting for the large growth of the Department. Stewart-Cooper-Newell Architects made sure to take into account firefighter mental health and support staff wellness, as well as clean water filtration systems.
