Property Description
Located on the corner of highway 176 and 2nd avenue , Goose Creek Fire Station #4 is an 11,000 SF facility with low country vernacular. It houses two apparatus bays and support spaces including decon and training equipment, the station also has admin, living quarters, and amenities such as a conference room, training room, exercise room, kitchen, day room, offices, and welcome and entrance lobby.
All interior materials are durable, maintenance friendly and attractive to satisfy longevity needs of the Fire Department. Exterior materials were chosen to seamlessly integrate into the Cons and Crossroads community architectural context.
The mixture of stone and brick masonry, along with board and baton siding with strategically placed glazed openings allows the Fire Department to take an advantage of natural views in and around the site and seamlessly blends within the overall landscape. The design of the project was a collaboration between the City of Goose Creek, SCNA, and the Fire Department with early involvement of a construction manager at risk (CMAR), which helped to ensure the city’s budget of 7M was met.
