North Augusta SC Public Safety Headquarters

1208 Georgia Avenue, North Augusta, SC, USA

Public Safety

37,000 sqft

Property Description

Stewart Cooper Newell Architects successfully collaborated with the City of North

Augusta to update their most recent master plan. As a result, SCNA was also

recommended to undertake the design of the new Public Safety Headquarters.

The 37,000 SF building will primarily function as Court Facilities and Police

Headquarters with separate secure public and staff entrances. The Public Safety

Facility will also become the new home of the City’s existing 911 Call Center and

EOC operations.

The site issues were addressed by utilizing a two-story plan to reduce the building

footprint hence providing more room for parking. The orientation of the build also

provided the street views requested by the owners. The north-facing front of

the building, provided the opportunity to utilize expansive windows bringing in

natural light and views connecting the occupants with the outdoors. The exterior

aesthetics was achieved by using traditional durable materials such as brick and

concrete, while the metal panels provide a contemporary look.
